 Core Values for the Sunghwa Korean Methodist Church of New York

 

성화감리교회에서 우리는 예수 그리스도를 예배하기를 원하며, 우리는 성경의 권위에 위탁되어 있으며, 우리는 가능하게 하시는 성령의 능력을 따릅니다. 우리교회의 비전은 열 가지 핵심가치를 구체화합니다.

At the Sunghwa Korean Methodist Church of New York we desire to honor Jesus Christ, we are committed to the authority of the Scriptures, and we are dependent upon the enabling power of the Holy Spirit. The vision of the Sunghwa Korean Methodist Church of New York incorporates 10 core values;

 

1. 하나님과 우리에게 사람들이 중요합니다.

1. People matter to God and to us. (Luke 15)

 

2. 복음의 메시지는 사람들의 삶을 변화시킵니다.

2. The Gospel message transforms people’s lives. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

 

3. 우리 사역의 목표는 사람들을 온전히 헌신된 그리스도의 제자로 변화시키는 것입니다.

3. The goal of our ministry is to transform people into fully devoted followers of Christ. (Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 4:11-16)

 

4. 사역과 복음전도는 관련된 방법으로 이행되어야 합니다.

4. Ministry and evangelism must be carried out in a relevant way. (1 Corinthians 9:22b)

 

5. 사람들은 부드럽고 공손하게 다루어져야 합니다.

5. People must be treated gently and respectfully. (1 Peter 3:15)

 

6. 사람들은 돌봄을 제공하는 공동체와 연계되어 있어야 합니다.

6. People need to be connected to a caring community. (Acts 4:34-35; 1 Thessalonians 4:9-10)

 

7. 모든 크리스천은 하나님께서 주신 사역을 가지고 있습니다.

7. Every Christian has a God-given ministry. (Ephesians 4:12)

 

8. 그리스도를 위해 모든 일에 최선을 다해야 합니다.

8. Everything we do for Christ must be done with excellence. (Colossians 3:23-24)

 

9. 우리교회는 지역사회에 복음적인 영향력을 끼쳐야 합니다.

9. Our church must have an evangelistic impact on our community. (Acts 6:7; 1 Thessalonians 1:8)

 

10. 우리의 사명을 완수하기 위해 우리는 관념적인 믿음에서 떠나고 기꺼이 하나님을 위한 위험을 감수하는 일을 해야 합니다.

10. To accomplish our mission we must be willing to step out in visionary faith and take risk for God. (Hebrews 11:6)
